Which Temu seller setup this page matches best
This calculator is easiest to interpret for semi-managed or local-fulfillment sellers where you control the retail price shown to buyers and you ship orders yourself. You enter the buyer-facing selling price, then subtract your costs and Temu referral or platform fees.
If you operate on a managed or supply-price model where Temu sets retail and you negotiate a supply payout, you can still use the tool by entering your realized payout per unit as selling price and setting commission to zero — but read results as supply-side net margin, not consumer retail margin.
- Semi-managed: selling price = checkout price after coupons; commission = referral % or blended take
- Supply-only modeling: selling price = payout per unit; commission = 0 unless you also subtract fees elsewhere
Map Temu costs into calculator fields
Keep one consistent cash moment. Either model gross checkout revenue and subtract fees, or model net payout and do not subtract the same fees twice.
- Product cost: landed COGS per unit sold
- Shipping: outbound label + packaging allocated per order; for bulk induction to Temu, amortize per sell-through unit into other costs
- Platform commission: referral or blended take as percentage; use fixed mode for flat per-order deductions if that matches your statements
- Other costs: return reserve, refunds without return, chargebacks, penalties, subscriptions amortized per order
- Advertising: optional — include in-platform promoted spend or external traffic you allocate per order
Common mistakes on Temu
Mixing payout-based revenue with gross checkout double-counts fees. Another frequent miss is ignoring return-heavy categories where small-ticket refunds do not return inventory.
- Do not stack referral % on top of net payout you already entered as selling price
- Refresh return reserve when policy or category return rate shifts
